4+1 Design Project 2010

Community Design 1st Year Project Arch@RSU, Thailand

This is the final presentation of my first year project submitted to the Faculty of Architecture, Rangsit University, Thailand

Briefly about the project: Community Design is a movement focused on the creation and management of environments for people by identifying and solving social, economic, and environmental problems as they relate to the built environment. This process promotes change to meet community needs through participatory decision-making. To design strategies of this size and impact, Damnoen Saduak, Thailand, focus on the smaller components that compose the whole. The projects begin with grassroots canvassing of communities, including one-on-one conversations and group gatherings.

Final Presentation of my 1st year project Arch@RSU

About the design: Our mission is to improve the quality of life for all by providing sustainable design, planning and development services to low- and moderate- income individuals, families and neighborhoods. To effectively deliver the message across, the design seeks ways to communicate through architectural language by the use of various architectural elements that can create some level of emotional connection between architecture and itscommunity. Project date: 2010

This is the final presentation of my first year project submitted to the Faculty of Architecture, Rangsit University, Thailand

Briefly about the project: Masterplan, detailed landscape design and architectural concepts. A 15 ha. in island of Koh Phangan, Thailand, was the site for this five star, boutique resort. The site planning concept was aimed at reflecting a typical fishing village spatial layout yet in a contemporary style. The program called for 12 villa units, central facilities, with associated recreational features (e.g. swimming pool), restaurant. The landscape design was based on the liberal use of coconut plants to reflect the traditional agricultural activity of the region of southern Thailand.

About the design: To effectively deliver the message across, the design seeks ways to communicate through architectural language by the use of various architectural elements that can create some level of emotional connection between architecture and its users.
